Hi folks! Thanks for stopping by!

During my quiet morning cup of tea, I noticed that my pinky was less swollen and painful, in spite of a bike ride that would normally have made it much worse. Paleo?
Arthritis of the finger joints appears to be a symptom of the wear and tear of aging, but a Paleo diet has apparently reversed the condition in my left hand considerably.
Several years ago, I developed a painful arthritis of my left pinky finger, leading to swelling and sharp pain, especially during and after cycling. In spite of completing the 100-mile Mountains of Misery bike ride with my son, Duncan, and cycling buddy, Rory, on Sunday, my arthritis is still much improved, with little or no pain today. A definite sign of improvement, in spite of the rigors of that killer ride.

We must have climbed 8,000 feet, and that last 3-mile hill is a killer! Quote from Duncan: “I’ll never put myself through that kind of pain again, you guys must be crazy.”
I suspect that conversion to a Paleo diet may be playing a beneficial role in my reduced arthritis pain and joint swelling. If you carry out a search on the Internet, you’ll find many references to the therapeutic effects of a Paleo diet on ‘regular’ and rheumatoid arthritis.
Perhaps this is yet another Paleo advantage, awaiting mechanistic confirmation.
