So-Called Plantar Fasciitis Research?
‘So-Called’ is clearly explained in the book.
With which I’m pretty happy, on re-reading it.
If you can enjoy re-reading a book you wrote, you’re either insane or it’s not too bad.
There are already six reviews on Amazon, of which this one interested me. Why am I perplexed? Only three stars for a positive review. Is that a mixed message? Fascinated me, anyway. It was the lowest of the six scores.
Remember, I’m trying to change the world, one preventable heel injection at a time. Someone has to do it!
Marketing is a very weird science, intrepid or not!
Let me tell you a secret about SEO for this book.
I get most sales via the search term ‘pain pain’ proving marketing is weird. Who on Earth types in pain pain? My customers, obviously. Of course, my competitors will now use it and put up the price per click. I expect that. It’s all part of the game of marketing
How long has marketing been going on, on planet Earth?
Probably 3.5 billion years, so why stop now?
My Mom, who’s favorite book was The Power of One (not a bad read), always told me, “Kevin, you can fight city hall.”
But I’m not fighting city hall, I’m fighting the intrenched idea in the medical profession that the cause of a pain (unless it’s angina) is in the site of the pain.
I think Malcolm Gladwell would call angina the Token in this case, right?
I was delighted to have my work called junk science (scientist), based on BS (podiatrist), and the worst kind of garbage (another podiatrist), publicly on Facebook. I’d actually reached someone. This kind of review is very much appreciated.
It spurred me on, with memories of Ignaz Semmelweis and John Snow (acknowledged in the book), to reflect on and question my work, and to re-read the thing. I’m insane, clearly!
The fact is, progress in science depends on one piece of junk science, or garbage based on BS, at a time, to change people’s thinking. One person’s garbage is another’s treasure.
Thanks guys! I loved it. You have to be a scientist to understand how I feel.
OK! Back to living with aortic disease, a slightly bigger problem. I’m working on theĀ second edition, it’ll take a while.
Wishing you happy trails,
