Three Essential Lessons In Life That Driven Athletes Can Learn From Cats (The True Athletes)

Hi folks,

Cats really know how to relax. Here is Coco giving a demonstration.

Cats really know how to relax. Here is Coco giving a demonstration. He is my sister Marian's cat, or is she Coco's human servant. The latter I suspect!

Years ago I read a book entitled, ‘Everything I Need To Know I Learned From My Cat.’ I took away two enduring lessons from these admirable creatures, one of my favorite mammals, which I still try to stand by, as follows:

It’s OK to wear the same clothes every day.

Always remember to bite the hand that feeds you.

I was looking around for a blog post subject this morning, both in my mind and in the room, and I espied a sleeping cat. Easy! The problem with driven people, and I tend to be one, is that they have trouble chilling out or relaxing. Cats seem to have no such challenge. They can relax completely, whilst actually remaining on guard for threats – the martial artists nirvana!

Another lesson to learn from a cat!

So, today I’m going to relax for a while, then do my 6-mile run, then work on my first product, then finish a couple of invited blog posts, then

Ooops! My mistake. I’m going to go take a lesson from Coco.

Less is more, right?

Today’s workouts:

Rest, relax, chill out, erleichda, take a chill pill, boogie down, …
