What Do You Do When You See One Of Those Subtle Signs Sent By The Universe?

Hi folks,

signs of the universe, what does this mean, missing lady?, FitOldDog's observations,

I went out to the beach very early this morning, and this is what I found – no one in sight. Makes you wonder, doesn’t it. Still there later that day. Should I call the coast guard or check in the bag for an ID or a phone number? What would you do?

Every now and then the Universe will send you a subtle sign, and you can take note or treat it as a SEP Field (Someone Else’s Problem – The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy). I suspect that your response will be conditioned by your general level of awareness combined with behavioral conditioning derived from the delicate mix of your genome with your environment, including the effects of any memes (“An element of a culture or behavior that may be passed from one individual to another by nongenetic means, esp. imitation“) in your life. The trick to dealing with memes in a healthy way is to be aware of them and treat them with the respect that they deserve.

What would you do about the ‘absent person‘ in the adjacent photograph, I wonder?

I had such a subtle sign in the form of an abdominal pulse that I ignored for months, almost resulting in my premature demise, until the Universe sent another message, one that even I could not ignore. I have neglected to respond to similar warning signs in bad (literally) relationships, which resulted in months of unnecessary misery, until I bit the bullet and fixed the problem. I call this moving from my notochordate to my vertebrate phenotype.

My long tail keyword, safe exercise for better health, is all about learning how to spot such signs and respond accordingly, in order to avoid training-induced injuries.

What signs are you ignoring to your detriment?

  1. I would have reported those clothes and bag on the beach to someone if they had been there several hours.

  2. Very good. I looked in the bag, and it contained kids beach toys with no contact information, so I let it go. -k

  3. What did the warning sign say?

  4. Oh, the warning says Rip Currents. I would definitely have reported it.
